Incoming President Russell Tippin

On August 6th, Grow Odessa held their annual stockholders meeting where outgoing President Dan Hollmann stepped down, passing the gavel to incoming President Russell Tippin. Hollmann served a one-year term as President beginning in August 2023 and ending at the board meeting in August 2024. Tippin will assume the position of president and will serve a one-year term on the 30-person board.

Tippin is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Center Hospital here in Odessa. Previously he held several CEO positions in West Texas and has over 20 years of experience in Healthcare Administration. Russell is an active member of many Hospital, Health, and business Boards. In April 2019, he received the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospital’s coveted Gorden Russell Award recognizing merit in Healthcare Administration.

Hollmann is proud of the accomplishments made during his term as president including a new website redesign, donating 37 acres to ECISD for their Career and Technical Education Building, donating $250,000 to UT Permian Basin for their Civil Engineering Program. Hollmann is also a well-known attorney here in Odessa. He has been in practice since 1976 as a shareholder in tax matters, state and federal taxation, and estate planning. He is also a certified public accountant in Texas. Hollmann has been on different board committees including CRMWD, Odessa Chamber of Commerce, Catholic Charities, Odessa Housing Authority, Odessa Chamber of Commerce Medical Expansion Committee, Odessa Industrial Development Corporation, and member of the Diocesan Legal Advisory Team for the Diocese of San Angelo. Hollmann was also Odessa Citizen of the Year in 2006 and the Heritage of Odessa Foundation Award for Law Board Member in 2005.

Odessa Industrial Development Corporation, DBA Grow Odessa, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Odessa’s economic development growth. Grow Odessa was established in 1966 to assist existing businesses with expansions and to attract new compatible industries to Odessa. The organization has developed four industrial parks in south Odessa and has 500 additional acres of undeveloped land for future use. Grow Odessa provides an annual scholarship donation to Odessa College, UT Permian Basin and Texas Tech UHSC. They have also partnered with the City of Odessa and Ector County on several infrastructure projects throughout the community, as well as contributing to the construction of the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center, UTPB Athletics and the West Texas Food Bank to name a few.
